Overcoming Your Social Media Fears
I continue to meet more and more business professionals who are afraid to reach out to their stakeholders using social media. I am not as surprised to hear about their overwhelming resistance to tweeting, however, I am taken aback by the number of people who don’t have any inclination to create a simple Facebook page.
Social media can be daunting to business owners for many reasons. You’re afraid to get started because you don’t know where to begin. You’re afraid of what people might say about your organization. You’re afraid that you don’t have the time to keep it up. You’re afraid that you don’t know what you’re doing. Let’s tackle these fears one by one.
Procrastination: Mastering the Inevitable
As with many other unfortunate personal shortcomings, procrastination doesn’t truly go away entirely, if I’m honest. It’s a flaw that feels as though it has been nailed to its perch, remaining ever-ready to rear up and strike again at the most inopportune time. Any person who suffers the unpleasantries of endlessly delaying the inevitable can never truly and permanently declare success over their shameful little problem without looking back over their shoulder, wondering if it will eventually make a repeat appearance when they don’t have the time or the inclination to fight it off.
How Social Media has Transformed the Super Bowl
The beginning of last year was the first time social media and the Super Bowl officially converged. Everyone from the advertisers and the NFL to fans and athletes, jumped on the social media Super Bowl bandwagon like never before, forever changing the way this momentous event is experienced by people all over the nation.
