It’s the people, stupid
Most people are familiar with James Carville’s proclamation, made during the 1992 presidential election, “It’s the economy, stupid.” Birthed in a moment of “war room” frustration, it became a mantra of the Clinton campaign, focusing attention on the country’s recession—attributed to then-president George Bush. It’s a great quote for wrangling people in to the core issue at hand.
Why your half-ass approach to marketing is hazardous to your health
“Where do you want to go today?” That was the slogan Microsoft used in its first global image advertising campaign. Too bad it’s also become the way many so businesses and organizations run their marketing and communications programs. You know — a quarter-page ad here, a Twitter post there, and a press release every other week because they’ve always got something “new” and “unique” to tell us about. Does this describe your approach to marketing? If so, take it from Ice Cube: You better check yourself before you wreck yourself.

When Designers Get Snooty: An Explanation
Designers are pretentious. We’re also arrogant. We’re belligerent. We wear black-framed glasses and spike our hair for no other reason than because we’re supposed to. We have a pre-defined sneer for every occasion, and we affix them to our mugs with unabashed pride. We’re ornery, ill-tempered, cantankerous snots with permanently sour attitudes that seep into and corrode everything we do while negatively affecting every person we come into contact with.
That’s a stereotype that’s not totally unfounded, but it’s also not entirely accurate.
