Integrated marketing strategies to nourish your business

Jon EdwardsSean Doughtie

Sean Doughtie

President + CEO

“Our role as communicators is to make the common unique—to take the familiar and provide new perspective.”

Sean brings more than 13 years of industry experience to Taproot Creative. As president and CEO, he oversees the integrated marketing efforts for Taproot Creative’s clients, while facilitating a talented team of creative professionals. He has led his firm to receive more than 60 awards for contributions made to the advertising, public relations and new media industries.

A passion for design led Sean to “take a chance” in 2005—leaving behind a comfortable art director position and venturing into the entrepreneurial unknown. Thus was born Taproot Creative. The firm now serves clients in more than a dozen states.

Sean often speaks at venues throughout the Southeast on the topics of branding, design and new media strategy. He has served as a consultant and new media advisor to governors, U.S. senators and multiple members of the state legislature. In these roles, Sean directed and implemented grassroots, public awareness, rapid-response and creative strategies for clients and campaigns.

All work and no play makes Jack Sean a dull boy. He took up martial arts as a way to decompress and de-stress, going on to earn a black belt in Filipino Martial Arts (Lakan Isa, to be exact) in 2009. His less violent hobbies include reading, running and music (he plays guitar and bass).

Sean holds a Bachelor’s degree from Florida State University, where he studied a number of things that have little or nothing to do with his ultimate career path. He lives in Tallahassee with his wife and three children.
