Stacey Getz, APR
Director of Strategic Communications
“Good communication isn’t so much about what we say or how we say it, but what we do and how we do it.”
As director of strategic communications, Stacey counsels clients in the development of integrated marketing strategies that produce measurable results. As a nationally accredited public relations professional, Stacey possesses a keen understanding of branding, communications research and the various advertising, public relations and new media tools and tactics that can be used to build mutually beneficial relationships between organizations and their stakeholders.
Previously, Stacey served as the vice president of communications for a well-known nonprofit organization. During her tenure, she developed multiple strategic communications programs that generated significant gains in private donations, volunteerism and positive media coverage.
Prior to her nonprofit work, she served as senior account executive and director of new media at a Tallahassee-based public relations firm, where she led grassroots, public awareness and advocacy efforts for corporate, political and nonprofit entities statewide. One of her most notable achievements comprised leading a successful consumer outreach effort for a Fortune 100 company that garnered more than 11 million statewide media impressions and facilitated a consumer movement delivering more than 16,000 supportive emails to key Florida lawmakers. The campaign website received the FPRA Grand Golden Image Award, which recognizes the top public relations program component in the state during a given year.
Stacey began her career at The Zimmerman Agency, where she managed national and international media relations, organized media tours and special events, negotiated cooperative and broadcast promotions and assisted in creative campaign planning for clients in the hospitality and tourism industry.
Stacey is a summa cum laude graduate of Florida State University’s College of Communication. She channels her passion for the community by serving on various boards, including that of the Knight Creative Communities Institute and the Village Square, and is a graduate of Leadership Tallahassee Class 27. A homebody by nature, she relishes time spent with family, especially her husband, Jon, and their two-year-old daughter, Kaylin.
